Opeth - Ghost Reveries (2005)

Click to listen sample

I've always thought Opeth was an overrated band, not bad, simply overrrated so I didn't expect too much from Ghost Reveries and I've got to say I was greatly surprised with this cd (otherway I'd never include an Opeth review on this site :) )

The brutality and the gutural voices are still there, but this time the band has definitely made a huge evolution into more intrincated passages, complex structures and an overall sound that reminds us to bands like Tool.

A big step forward for Opeth that definitely will hughely increase their fan base. A refreshing production for those accustomed to many of the actual classic prog re-makes.
