Circus Maximus - The 1st Chapter (2005) Click to listen sample A very good first effort for this norwegian progmetal band. Circus Maximus is following the path of Dream theater by mixing technical proficiency with melodic passages (listen to Alive) and to some extent also remind us of the best works of Savatage. One can only expect an improvement on their following albums. Hopefully the lame epic lyrics won't be there because really they're not necessary when you have the musical abilities as shown in the fabulous title track. Great for an scandinavian band to be far away from the ghotic influences just for a change.
